Here are some abstracts I created, using a stained glass lamp as my base then distorting it. This area of art is new to me.
I am Kat and have lived in the Heart of the Appalachian Mountains for 10+ yrs. I love the people, the accent, the mountains, the culture, the beauty & the abundant wildlife here. This photo blog is my view of life. Much of my day is spent at the level of doorknobs, as I am disabled & use a power wheelchair. As you can imagine, most photos are from this perspective, though some are taken from a vehicle. I hope you enjoy my photos. PLEASE comment to let me know you've been here!

The LIBERATE YOUR ART postcard exchange
LIBERATE YOUR ART!
I am excited to do the swap again and this time I am READY! I used Moo.com (if you tell them I referred you - my email is artykat @ me .com. But with NO spaces, I will get a credit and so will you!) and I will have enough cards to share after the swap with others who may want to. This swap is one of the best things I have ever been a part of on the Internet. Global exchange!
Here is the info:
** Official sign up for the swap is here: http://kateyestudio.com/liberate-your-art-postcard-swap**
It's that time again! The Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap is back for 2014 for its fourth year.
Send 5 postcards printed with your art by March 15 and receive 6 postcards back. Don't get how it works? Visit the main swap page linked above to get more details and to sign up for the email with all of the info.
There were 216 artists participating in 2013. Will you help me grow the swap this year? Share this invitation with your creative friends. Together, let's liberate more art into the world!

My buddy
I have been working on some old family photos and restoring them. this one is of my Grampa and me when he was in the hospital. It was not long before his death. I was five when he passed in August of 1962.

Post-Thanksgiving glow
Twix and I retreat to my desk corner of the bedroom. I love it there because to my immediate left is a window and straight ahead is another. He loves to sit with me while I work on photo editing on my computer. I have so many to post!.
